DESERTED: THE NEWEST PODCAST NOT LOST ON VIEWERS
Los Angeles, CA,— In a brainstorming session one day, Todd Lampe (award-winning director of the short films "Charlie" and "Strongerable") and ErinRose Widner (producer and actress) were discussing their next film project. Both had experience in short films and features, but with new technology emerging, they decided to try something different. After a long brainstorming session at The Good Earth in Studio City, they came up with an idea they both loved. A micro-series podcast spoofing
the show Lost. And so, Deserted was born.
As huge fans of the show Lost, and also a bit disgruntled (as many fans are) by the repeats and the continual unsolved mysteries, Lampe and Widner decided to create their own podcast micro-series with a group of strangers trying to find their way home, this time stranded in the desert.
“We were already comfortable in the genre of short films but wanted to find something where we could draw in a larger audience and get them hooked on a show like Lost, while also spoofing the unending mysteries,” says Lampe. “The thing that we loved most about this idea, was we could embrace the characters we love in Lost and at the same time poke fun of things like polar bears showing up on island.” In Deserted, Lampe and Widner lose no time introducing a lone pig,
Jenna, one of the desert’s many mysteries.
The entire microseries is now available on DVD and can be purchased directly by clicking here: PURCHASE DESERTED ON AMAZON
